2008 SCEPTrE Fellowship Festival
Wednesday 26 November 2008
The annual Fellowship Festival celebrates the accomplishments of Fellows who have completed their Fellowships and welcomes new Fellows. It provides an opportunity to honour some of our most creative and talented people who contribute to our learning enterprise. Nine Fellowships were awarded by the Surrey Centre for Excellence in Professional Training and Education (SCEPTrE) and four awards were made to the new CLD-Faculty Scholars. In introducing the new Fellows, Professor David Airey commented: ‘There is no doubt in my mind that the Fellowship is making a really useful contribution to the professional lives of the people involved, to the students who benefit from the new practices that have developed, and to the wider community of professionals to which the Fellows belong.’ In launching the 2009 Fellowship framework, Professor Seaton said that it would be focused on promoting professional capability through a concern for ‘whole life learning’. The framework will encourage and support the further development of curricular and other experiences that seek to combine and integrate learning from academic, work and other life contexts. Following the formal presentation participants had an opportunity to talk to Fellows about their projects and see how students are benefiting from their innovations. You can see the speeches and catch a flavour of the fair in the slides and video clips below.
