G’day Mate! I managed to create a brief profile of myself last month with the quote “perpetuating what we have is not going to get us where we want to go”. This of course is true as we are “drowning in information and starving for knowledge”.
Back to business…, Hello all, I am coming from a Science background with “Computer Science” research training. At present I am a Senior Lecture in Information Technology at the School of Information Technology, Faculty of Science and Technology (FaST). My main stream research area is Medical Informatics and Ubiquitous access etc. The Learning and Teaching research area is what I am interested in particularly “Practical Based Learning” which I learnt during my 6 hours Chemistry Practical Examination 20 years ago. The theory behind such learning has not been changed, however, the recent advancement on Computer Technology makes such a concept more user friendly thus I am researching on the Ubiquitous learning environment in particular how we can assist and assess our students when they are placed in Industry training.
Currently we (Deborah, Jill and I) are SCEPTrE Fellows and are looking to work with you very closely. Please visit my University, Faculty, School and my home page (not complete as yet) as per your time permits!
